as you can see above are 2 pics; light set up and scene, i have to remove the denon receiver since it's commercial 3d model.i replaced with a box, what u need to do is just replace that box with ur items, then render, u can download my material here, and scene here. feel free to manipulate.btw this is max 9 scene.

this is a test render for commercial model denon receiver, using HDRI via MR fg, more to come..i am doing another test render now, i will share the light set up & materials that i used in this experiment fyi, the model was provided by www.evermotion.org, texturing, light rigging and rendering was done by me.

ok let me share with you some of my simple setting for mental ray (MR),
long time ago i myself didn't really know how to hack this stuff, it's damn technical and the old version of MR was purely customizable,not user friendly and pretty tough to handle, normally i use final gather (FG) for standard MR rendering setting.FG is very powerful algorithm. here is another test render with its setting, the image itself is "blocky" since i rendered it with draft mode. some materials i used Jeff Patton's models such as carpet and you can download the setting and model here. Feel free to tweak and send your good pic of it.

talking about hair/fur in 3d? last few decades was a very complex and sophisticated modelling issue but nowadays you can use built-in hair plugin in 3dsmax , above are pics taken from http://www.ephere.com they provide plugin for hair in max, i haven't had a chance to explore the demo version, may be once i got a chance i will see what i can create from this cool toy

it was pretty bad day since last 2 days, the admin blocked my blog due to spam thingy, finally i managed to prove that i got nothing to do with spam, this site shares knowledge and free model etc.
well last night i managed to do some test render and u can see the living room here got some improvement. no materials applied and still got room for some more improvement.
i cant share the models since they belong to commercial models. i can share the scene file and you can take a look at how did i set up the mental ray scene. Bear in mind that i am rendering this via 8 Xeon CPUs with 8 GB Ram. So i have no idea how long it takes to render via 1 cpu/2cpus.
You can download your 3d scene model here(all interior models were removed) you only will get 3d interior scene.
i created 1 simple logo animation with explosion you can download here. Just play around with particle array parameters. feel free to download it here
lastly there are text coming in and particle emits from the text base, you can download here , all max 8 file

the holiday was fun, but learnt something also, since this is our second time having holiday abroad with our kids...it's not that easy to handle them, anyway disneyland is the best place to learn about design, u can see they designed every single thing and all r very detail, dont forget the 3d show there. :)

this simple parking gate was modeled within 10 mins, not a detailed model. u can download here.i used this model for previsual purpose, nothing more than matching the light,colour correct etc. just to visualize the contact between surrounding.no texture map, all procedural textures.

Here is the circuit board i modeled for external proj. i tried to search all over the web, for free model, unfortunately no such free stuff.i found in www.turbosquid.com,it was commercial model. as a result i modeled it and if u want to use it kindly download it here in max9 and zip format. I need nothing from you. Just a credit. Thanks, btw the model has been designed to suit my project requirements.may be it was a bit different from the standard circuit board. u can simply manipulate.
above are the pics for my friend's jewellery shop. it was a very2 rush job, did for helping purpose only. 2 hours job.no advance rendering etc. just standard max renderer and lighting.

after 32 yrs living in this world, now it's time for me to share my computer graphics knowledge, particularly in 2d/3d graphics, more specific into the art of 3d graphics:multimedia/ animation/virtual reality.
tonight i don't have any techniques to share, may be i should share the most recent multimedia conference trip that we went in dec 06, jogjakarta. it was quite fun and tiring since this is the 2nd conference, i went with my family, we used to travel to various countries, but only me n my wife, this time i brought my parents and sister too...we rented an apartment, one MPV with a driver..indeed it was quite tiring of handling my 3 kids compared to exploring jogja!
i was not into shopping interest field...but my parents/wife were mad about shopping...they spent days for shopping, while i spent taking care of the kids for the last day...we visited borobodur , perambanan temple-conference dinner,some other kraton (palaces), silver factory..as for the conference it's called as The Fourth International Conference on Advances in Mobile Computing & Multimedia (MoMM2006) held on 4-6 December 2006, in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. we presented a paper entitled "A Prototype for Voice Driven Emotion Recognizer Mobile Phone"
talking about dinner, it was a luxury outdoor dinner (pic below-bit blur since it was quite dark and handheld), it cost me RM120 per head, all indonesian based food..not bad,the funny thing they also served maggi as one of the meals, it come with a show too, ramayana, a very traditional show...more importantly, we got to know other researchers from all over the world...that's good thing bout conference
